Lore: Hignös house

HIGNOS HOUSE Beyond the void

Synopsis

Surviving beneath the bedrock of an ocean consumed world, House Hignös are a prideful, resilient people. Starting off as an advanced research expedition, their house is rife with scientists, specialists, and scholars. Because of such a small starting population alongside adverse and restrictive living conditions, House Hignös adapted in kind. This meant each citizen had a greater role to play within society which led to the streamlined efficiency of their government. Being such an isolated and sparse people, House Hignös never confronted their enemies face to face. Instead they constructed metal reapers able to withstand the planet’s harsh environment to do their fighting.  Much of the success of House Hignös can be traced to the Service Evaluation Exam which consists of a series of assessments and test starting at birth and following an individual until they reach adulthood. At the head of this withdrawn society is the Baron himself.

Baron Hignös is the leader of his House not because he was gifted this position, but rather he created it. More specifically, the original Baron created it and that title is passed down through methods only each new Baron knows. The Baron administers the Service Evaluation Exam, keeping the small powerful House running smoothly by ensuring that each member is in a role that best possible position for their skill set. By allowing a maximum efficiency government to take care of the day to day tasks of running a House, the Baron instead plots the downfall of his enemies. With his gaze now set upon the Void, the Baron works tirelessly to find the precise manner in which he shall achieve mastery over this new and mysterious realm.

Vunhumas’ legion: Fusion

Fusion Beyond the void

Fusion

Fusion is not a single vessel but a legion, all aimed at a single purpose – the preservation of the powerful aristocratic family House Vunhuma. Created using an ancient, collective artificial intelligence excavated from the remains of a long-dead civilization, the small, sleek Fusion ships relentlessly pursue whomever threatens Baron Vunhuma. By the time Fusion’s prey detects the intense heat of its ambrosium beam, it is usually too late to do anything but perish.

The secrets of the Fusion ships’ mass production is one coveted by all of the Vunhumas’ rivals — many good spies have been sent to their doom trying to uncover it, while the great spies know better than to even make the attempt. And in lieu of the truth, many tall tales have spread regarding House Vunhuma and its protectors.

What is known is that each Fusion is nimble, unpredictable, and its weaponry only grows stronger the longer it is in battle. And of the few foes who have bested a Fusion, none have truly “won”  – when destroyed each ship releases an energy wave destroying anything nearby; the blast is powerful enough for the reverberations to be felt across a star system, like waves crashing on a distant shore. And valuable though each Fusion is, Baron Vunhuma is more than willing to sacrifice one to secure his family’s dominance throughout the galaxy.

But some say Baron Vunhuma’s grip on his family is not as iron-clad as it once was. Some say that the Fusion’s collective AI, a cold-blooded tactician named Orianna, has evolved beyond its human masters and is now the family’s true leader. Perhaps the Vunhuma’s dug too deeply when they excavated Orianna’s old ruins, and now the day may come when she is no longer content to rule from the shadows.

Molten Core

Unable to find purpose and with no awareness of self-preservation, the artificial intelligence hurdled the ship into a sun, hoping to end its existence, but unknowingly became a creation of untold power that would feed to the legend of Fusion itself. Upon impact with the sun it released a powerful supernova, destroying the star but the energy was somehow absorbed inside the ambrosium reactor, creating a ship with no ruler that also channels the most destructive force that no one has lived to tell. Ancient technology has merged with demonic mysticism, creating a new Fusion that shows allegiance to no house and simply drifts through the void.

Lore: Vunhuma House

VUNHUMA HOUSE Benyond The Void

Synopsis

The predecessors to House Vunhuma had a particularly advantageous start when ambrosium crashed into their planet. And yet, even with the explosion of life and resources that the ambrosium brought, they still.disappeared. The House of Vunhuma seeks to correct that past misstep and grow outward toward the Void. For the Vunhuma, harmony is the only way forward. By seeking balance and synergy, House Vunhuma aims to integrate the flora and fauna created by ambrosium with the derelict machines of their lost ancestors . This embrace of nature and machinery is the basis of the Baron Vunhuma To outsiders it appears the Baron possesses some yet unmatched powers, but only those within Vunhuma society know the truth.

The Baron of House Vunhuma is no individual being, but rather a collection. The Baron uncovered .an ancient process by which he could synthesize himself fully with life and instrument, nature and tool.  Starting with the original Baron, vast numbers of Vunhumachose to build toward this ideal and have added their life toward this grand effort . Only the Kutau, the sole communicator and voice of the Baron, expresses the desiresof the Baron to the people. Over time, their society hopes to find the ultimate peace and harmony within the form  of the Baron. It is House Vunhuma’s goal is to stretch their brand of harmony across the universe and, with the power of their Fusion mothership, deep into the Void.

Avatars

Anesu Kutau

The title of Kutau is bestowed upon the only living person who communicates with the Baron of Vunhuma. For Anesu, this is a lifetime position of power and responsibility. She guides House Vunhuma as much as the Baron and its success and failure also lie with her. When her days are finished, she alone chooses her successor and then joins her predecessors within the consciousness of the Baron.

Mbwiri

Mbwiri is a shaman of Vunhuma whose superb healing ability has led the masses to flood her clinics. However, her patron’s fervent, sometimes unreasonable, loyalty has led to whispers of something dark and forbidden gripping their minds.

Hondo

With a near omnipresence within the galactic political scene, Hondo knows everyone. He uses his connections and influence to help Vunhuma use its vast reserves of Ambrosium to push its civilization beyond the highest of its extinct predecessors.

The greatest pride of Trexars: Excalibur

Excalibur spaceship

For Archbaron Trexar, the bombing of Glavos began as just another step on his path to glory; it ended, though, with him claiming his greatest weapon.

Of all the subjects in Trexar’s barony, the citizens of the tiny planet Glavos had the greatest skill in mining and crafting ambrosium into weapons of war. The archbaron, raised on ancient legends and histories, dreamed of expanding his territory to claim all the systems that laid on the rim of galactic civilization, and from them forging an empire that would be remembered for generations. The loyalty of Glavos’ weaponsmiths had, so far, been integral to his vision; it was their craftsmanship and the planet’s rich supply of ambrosium that fueled his conquests.

But, of all the weapons that could be wielded against the baron, treachery was the one that cut deepest, and when word reached him that his subjects on Glavos planned to turn his own weapons against him and rebel, his wrath was swift. His war fleet appeared above Glavos’ capital city without warning, and the very weapons the planet’s citizens had made now rained destruction down upon them. The orbital bombardment lasted for days, and Trexar stoically watched the city burn from the command deck of his flagship. The citizens mounted a feeble defense, launching a handful of starships, but none could stand before the archbaron.

When the flames had finally ceased days later, Archbaron Trexar was the first of his forces to set foot on the city’s ruined surface. The destruction was massive, yes, but factories could be replaced – ambrosium could not. And, more importantly to Trexar, the show of force ensured the obedience of the remaining Glavos citizens. And it was only through the obedience of others that Trexar could forge his new empire.

While the planet’s smaller, remaining factories resumed arming Trexar’s forces, his troops sifted through the wreckage of what was the greatest of Glavos’ ship docks. In an underground bunker, miraculously undamaged, was a ship unlike any Trexar had seen before. Powered by a unique ambrosium fusion reactor, the cruiser could generate an aura capable of empowering nearby ships, but most fearsome was its ability to catalyze ambrosium into a destructive beam capable of cutting through anything in its path.

If the baron’s attack had not been so swift, it’s possible this ship might have been launched against him, perhaps turning the tide of the fight, or worse, being annihilated before Trexar could claim it.

The baron saw it as a final gift from the people of Glavos, and one befitting his coming role as an emperor. He named the ship “Excalibur,” taking its name from an old tale from a long-forgotten planet, a tale of a divine sword gifted to a legendary king to smite the enemies of his realm. And just like in the stories of old, Excalibur would be Trexar’s weapon to cut through his foes and build his own kingdom, one that would be remembered forever.

Junkalibur episode:

Rebels have made some unique modifications to this Excalibur unit thanks to stolen technology straight from Archbaron Trexar’s personal collection. They built a fossil-fueled war machine for the most advanced space warriors.

Patch note 0.6.2 – User Interface, spectator mode, minor gameplay & changes

Hello everyone,

Patch 0.6.2 is live and we brought some gameplay changes before this week end tournament!

Gameplay changes

Several minor changes have been implemented:

Abilities :

All abilities cost no more Ambrosium.

  • Fire spear: Damage scale by 18 points per mothership’s level instead of 22.
  • Cryo Scud: We reworked the formula to calculate damage so that it deals more damage only if almost all rockets hit the enemy. Damage on mothership are decreased by 20%. Aim is to make this ability an ability to clean your lane.
  • Ice storm: it now applies only one mark per use. Damage decreased from 25 to 20 and scale by 8 points per mothership’s level instead of 12.
  • Ice ring: Cooldown increased from 12 seconds to 30 seconds. Damage decreased from 25 to 20 and scale by 8 points per mothership’s level instead of 10

Ring combinations :

  • Leviathan (2 military rings combination): rank number increases the hull and not the number of Leviathan you can have near you (tool tip correction)
  • Ambro shield (Industrial + Engineering rings combination): Range radius has been reduced to 150. When you cancel an ability it now disable the aura for 16seconds. There is a small issue with the visual effects if you disable the aura when it’s in stand by.
  • Ultimate Defense (2 Engineering rings combination): skills hitting the enemy’s mothership grant a 150 bonus shield. It lasts for 1.5 seconds and each succesful skill extends the duration by 1.5seconds.

  • Default binds are on keys 1-2-3-4-5.
  • Several identical combinations raise the rank of the ability and therefore its strength.
  • All these abilities cost Ambrosium, and some of them introduce a new concept: auras.
    • Auras are abilities you can enable and disable.
    • When activated auras cost Ambrosium overtime until you disable them.
  • Building the same combination of two rings on multiple planets will improve the bonus effects of the combination.
  • Remember that combinations of Rings now take into account the build order.

First Industrial Ring: Effects how you can deploy abilities, focused on the mid-game.

Industrial Ring:

  • Ambro-Turbine (Combo skill). The next skill used within the next 3 seconds reduces its cooldown by 50%.
    • Costs 100 Ambrosiums and has a cooldown of four seconds.
    • Adds +1 ability rank gives you one more charge.

Military Ring:

  • Ambro-Canon (Aura). Gives auto attack a 10% chance of applying an additionnal mark. (Remember that mark can be fire or cryo. The aura applies a mark similar to the last one. If there was no mark on the enemy mothership then it applies a mark similar to the one applied by the primary skill.)
    • Costs 30 Ambrosium per second when active and has a four seconds cooldown.
    • Adds +1 ability rank increases the chance of applying an additionnal mark by another 10%.

Engineering Ring:

  • Leviathan (Guardian). Calls upon a Leviathan that stays with your mothership until it is destroyed.
    • Costs 150 ambrosiums and has a 30 seconds cooldown.

    • Adds +1 ability rank upgrades the buff that grants the Infernal Booster (x2)

First Engineering Ring: Improves your mothership, focused on impacting the late game.

Industrial ring:

  • Recycling (long duration buff). Aura that improves the hull each time you destroy an enemy spaceship (+5 hull points per destroyed enemy spaceship).

    • Adds +1 ability rank increases the bonus by +5 damage points per canceled skill.

Planetary strategy

  • Each planet owned by the player has a linked strategy among three: combat, economic and defense.
  • Strategies are unlocked after the building of the first ring of a planet. This first ring defines the initial planetary strategy.
  • You can now change strategy at any time with a cooldown of 20 seconds before being able to change it.
  • A shortcut allows you to change your planetary strategy quickly.
  • Each strategy now gives you bonuses according to the rings built on the planet.
  • Each ring will give a different bonus according to the selected strategy. Bonuses are cumulative:

Combat strategy: Adds new units for the lane. Each ring replaces a fighter with a special unit.

  • Industrial ring: Mercenary spaceship. Stronger against snipers.
  • Military ring: Sniper spaceship. Stronger against sentinels
  • Engineering ring: Sentinel spaceship. Stronger against mercenaries.

Economic strategy: Allows your rings to generate ambrosium. Each ring grants a different method of gathering.

Defense strategy: The planet is protected by a shield, reducing damage taken by 50%. Each ring grants a passive bonus.

  • Industrial ring: +2 Ambrosium per second.
  • Military ring: the mothership gains one attack drone, which increases your damage per second.
